CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Friday afternoon at a southwest Charlotte gas station.
The shooting happened around 12:45 p.m. on South Tryon Street near Arrowood Road.
When officers got to the area, they found 16-year-old Elijah Riggan with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting and no arrests have been made.
