CMPD: Man dies weeks after crash involving moped in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — A man has died weeks after a crash involving a moped in north Charlotte, police said.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said it happened on Sunday, Dec. 1, around 8:25 p.m. at the the intersection of University City Boulevard and North Graham Street.

According to CMPD, responding officers and MEDIC found 82-year-old Dashrathlal Shankarlal Barot lying on the roadway with life-threatening injuries.

Officers said they also located a moped near by.

Barot was transported to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. CMPD said he was pronounced dead on Jan. 6.
