CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers helped a member of the community confined to a wheelchair.
The electric wheelchair had run out of power. When Officers Worthy and Womble encountered Mr. Welch, he could not get onto a Charlotte Area Transit System bus because of the situation.
Worthy and Womble helped Welch from his spot to the Family Dollar on South Tryon and Clanton roads.
The officers stood with Welch until his chair was charged, and he could get home.
