CHARLOTTE — UPDATE: CMPD says the man was found safe and is being reunited with his family.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is searching for a 24-year-old man who was last seen in east Charlotte on Thursday.
Authorities said Gregory Thomas Steckbeck’s last known location was at his apartment on Hawthorne Lane. Family and friends of Steckbeck are concerned for his safety.
CMPD said that Steckbeck is known to spend a lot of time on the Blue Ridge Parkway and near overlooks in Boone, Watauga, Mitchell, and Avery County areas. Steckbeck also spends time in the Roan Mountain area in Tennessee.
Steckbeck could be wearing a khaki jacket along with gray Dr. Marten boots. He could be driving a 2010 gold Toyota Camry with a NC tag number of ZTB-8269.
Anyone who has information of the whereabouts of Steckbeck is asked to call 911.
