CMPD seeks man for outstanding warrants

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lee Anthony Funderburk is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team on outstanding warrants for possession of a firearm by a felon and interfering with an electronic monitoring device, according to a news release.

Funderburk was released from jail Friday after posting a $36,000 bond.

In addition to paying a bond, Funderburk was given a curfew and ordered to wear a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department electronic monitor.

Funderburk was last seen near Glennwood Drive and Interstate 85.

Funderburk has an extensive criminal history in Mecklenburg County.

Anyone with information on Funderburk's whereabouts should immediately contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-VACT or call 911.

Funderburk is the 24th offender monitored by CMPD to cut a monitor off in 2012. The other 23 offenders have been recaptured.

Funderburk was ordered onto electronic monitoring as part of CMPD's new Firearms by Felons initiative due to his pending charges and his violent history.
