HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Construction for a new elementary school in Huntersville was approved.
At the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools board meeting Tuesday night, the group approved nearly $12 million for the new school.
It will be built on a vacant lot on Stumptown Road. For years, overcrowding at nearby Torrence Creek Elementary has been an issue.
The new school should be open for the 2013-2014 school year.
