LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Lincoln County commissioners have rejected a rezoning request for a proposed 618 home community near Lake Norman.
Provident Bayard’s Iron Gate Project in Iron Station would have covered 507 acres with homes split between conservation and senior housing.
Commissioners cited concerns about the project’s home per acre density, saying it was out of character with surrounding properties.
Developers say they’ll continue working with the county on the project.
