Counterculture Club hosts first alcohol-free festival in Camp North End

CHARLOTTE — If you think dry January means no nights out, think again.

The Counterculture Club brought a unique alcohol-free festival to Camp North End on Saturday. According to organizers, it was the first event of its kind in the Southeast.

The festival has the mission of showing people the different types of alcohol-free drinks that are out there.

“I know non-alcoholic beverages creates this placebo effect that you have this thing in your hand you feel more comfortable,” Counterculture Club founder Molly Ruggere said.

According to their website, the Counterculture Club offers modern, science-based Alcohol freedom coaching, innovative alcohol-free social events, and a global members-only network.

Ruggere said she hope to have more sober events in Charlotte in the future.
