According to a release, Mecklenburg County Public Health officials notified CMS on Thursday that several already-reported COVID-19 cases they investigated at the middle school are considered a cluster.

“We would like to share this as an example of the notification and contact tracing process working as it should,” CMS said in an emailed release. “All impacted students and staff were notified last week of confirmed cases and/or the need to quarantine due to close contact with infected persons. No impacted students or staff have been in the building since notification was made.”

CMD said enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures were put in place at the school and have been completed.

Confirmed cases among students and staff reported by 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 were included in the metrics dashboard shared this week.

“The new information is that the county has concluded after its thorough investigation and intensive contact tracing that cases at Bradley are related, and thus qualify as a cluster,” CMS said.
