Detectives say they've recovered nearly a half-million dollars in stolen cars

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives in Charlotte said they've recovered nearly a half-million dollars in stolen cars in about a week.

Only Eyewitness News was in north Charlotte Thursday morning when police found two stolen cars at a home on Waterlily Lane.

Police said they received a tip call about a stolen Dodge Challenger in the driveway.

Officers said when the home's owner, Brian Ball, opened the garage, they found a stolen Audi.

Eyewitness News asked how the stolen vehicles got to his property.

"I have no idea," Ball said, as he was led away in handcuffs.

But Ball told police he bought the cars from a guy for $1,500.

Police said the cars are a part of an interstate auto theft ring Eyewitness News first exposed earlier this week.
