Domino's employees locked in freezer during robbery in Elizabeth

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after they said three men robbed a Domino's pizza shop in Elizabeth and locked the employees inside a freezer.

Officers told Channel 9 that the robbery happened just before 3 a.m. at the East 4th street location, near Charlottetowne Avenue.

Investigators said one employee was hurt during the robbery and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

No description of the robbers has been released.

Two weekends ago, police in Gastonia investigated an armed robbery at a Domino's on West Franklin Boulevard.

Detectives said that in that case, three suspects pistol-whipped an employee, then forced others into a cooler.
