Donate blood, win tickets to Panthers playoff game

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas announced Wednesday that it has less than a one-day supply of all RH negative blood types. This includes O-, A-, B- & AB-.

It is calling on the community to donate blood and as a thank you, CBCC will be raffling off a pair of Lower Bowl tickets on the 45-yard line (Section 131, Row 2) to the Carolina Panthers playoff game this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

"We are extremely low on whole blood and platelets. Due to the holidays and cold and flu season, donations are down all across the region," said Martin Grable, president and CEO of CBCC. "We need donors who are well and healthy to come out as soon as possible in the next few days to donate blood or platelets."

Although O blood types and RH negative blood types are needed the most right now, all blood donors are encouraged to donate. All donors who present to donate blood or platelets at one of CBCC's blood centers Wednesday through Saturday, Jan. 11, will have the opportunity to win these tickets.

The odds of winning are estimated at 1 in 250 and the winner will be announced at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11.

Any interested donors must sign up for the raffle when coming to the blood center. The raffle only applies to center donors. You can schedule your appointment at one of CBCC's centers by calling 704-972-4700 or clicking here.
