MOORESVILLE, N.C. — These longtime business partners are mapping out the future of a Mooresville event venue.

Chris Boukedes and Chris McKee purchased The Venues at Langtree and an adjacent, 9-acre property for $4 million in April 2021. That property was formerly known as Langtree Plantation.

The Venues boasts more than 26,000 square feet of event space across its 16-acre footprint — with more to come.

“It was just a natural progression for us,” says Boukedes. “It makes sense from the business aspect of it.”

He owns and operates On The Nines, Boat Yard Lake Norman and Bouk Catering — which will be the on-site caterer. McKee’s background is in fintech; he’s invested in multiple ventures, including a local brewery.

The Venues is a great property in a growing market, Boukedes says. It sits in close proximity to the Langtree Lake Norman lifestyle center. There are multiple hotels and businesses nearby, along with a growing residential community.
