Families, businesses still picking up pieces year after deadly campground flood

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — The Hiddenite Family Campground is still closed nearly one year after a flash flood claimed the lives of five people.

Family members that lost loved ones are still coping with the tragedy, and work continues to repair damage left by the floodwaters that rose between 12 and 15 feet.
