Family, community groups gather for balloon release to honor four-year-old Caleb Flax

CHARLOTTE — Family and community members are still hurting over the murder of four-year-old Caleb Flax.

At least 200 family and friends gathered at Enderly Park on Saturday for a balloon release in honor of the little boy.

There were several community groups who came out to support the family.

The Charlotte Ruff Riders Motorcycle Club turned out because Caleb loved to ride his bicycle and loved motorcycles.

The family says all the support has made a difference.

“It’s hard for me to believe this, but it’s real,” said Sarah Alexander, Caleb’s great-aunt. “Please, please, I hope they find who did this so they can get locked up and stay locked up.”

Police are still looking for the suspects in the case and there is no word on what, if any, progress they are making.

There were multiple calls for people to come forward with information during the balloon release.
