CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says a 48-year-old man was killed after being hit by a van Sunday night in east Charlotte.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Central Avenue, near Kilborne Drive.
Police said 48-year-old Tavaris Demell Crouch was found in the left lane on Central Avenue after being hit by a Chevrolet Express Van.
CMPD said the driver of the Express Van remained on scene and wasn’t found to be impaired.
No criminal charges have been filed as of this time. Police said the case is still an “ongoing, active investigation.”
Central Avenue was closed for several hours Sunday during the investigation.
