NEWTON, N.C. — Firefighters were busy trying to put out a fire at a funeral home in Catawba County Friday morning.
Witnesses told Channel 9 smoke and flames could be seen shooting from the Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home on Northwest Blvd. in Newton.
Chopper 9 flew over the funeral home just after 11 a.m. and saw crews mopping up after they had extinguished the fire.

Officials had to close U.S. 321 Business from West 8th Street to West 6th Street because of fire hoses across the road.
Investigators have not said how the fire started.
