CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Fire Department responded to a fire at a vacant motel in northwest Charlotte on Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to a structure fire at the 6200 block of Brookshire Blvd just after 6 a.m.

According to a tweet from CFD, firefighters are currently on the scene trying to control the fire.
The fire has also blocked the right inbound land on inbound Brookshire Blvd, past Fred Alexander Blvd.
Channel 9 had a news crew on the scene where the street was lined with firetrucks and other emergency vehicles.

According to CFD, the fire caused $50,000 work of damage and is still under investigation.
