Firehawk Brewpub taps into hometown roots as it opens in Mount Holly

Mount Holly, N.C. — Firehawk Brewpub is Mount Holly-made. The locally-grown restaurant and brewery aims to tap into the heart of the community.

It transformed the town’s former fire department building, which dates to 1964. That nearly 5,900-square-foot space at 309 N. Main St. embraces the open concept of the main engine room, a wood-pile aesthetic and touches of the Carolinas in its design. There’s also a patio and creek-side tables available.

Firehawk’s menu draws inspiration from backyard barbecues, family reunions and church potlucks.

“We are all Mount Holly-made here. We feel that this food that brought the community together is who Mount Holly is,” says owner Scott Blackwood. “It just made sense to give the city what we have always known.”
