CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The first two Publix grocery stores in the Charlotte area will open on Wednesday.
One store is in Indian Land and the other is in Fort Mill.
The grocery store chain also plans to open its first North Carolina store in Ballantye later this year.
A Publix spokeswoman said the new stores will create more competition and better prices for consumers.
