NEWTON, N.C. — A former Newton teacher accused of sex crimes against three students took a plea deal that will keep him out of jail.
Kyle Kannup worked as an assistant in-school suspension teacher and a coach at Fred T. Foard High School.
He was indicted by a Grand Jury in 2017 on three counts of indecent liberties.

He was sentenced to five years probation and he will not have to register as a sex offender.
