PINEVILLE, N.C. — Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis was on hand this weekend to mark the opening of Dick’s Sporting Goods’ two-story, dual-branded store in Pineville.
As previously reported by CBJ, the retailer has revamped a space that was formerly home to Macy’s at Carolina Place Mall. The store officially opened Friday, with festivities stretching through the weekend.
The Golf Galaxy brand is part of the Dick’s portfolio. It is a specialty golf retailer offering name-brand equipment, apparel and accessories. It also boasts fitting services and simulator technology
Davis, the Panthers’ all-time leading tackler who played here for 14 seasons, will be suiting up with the Los Angeles Chargers this fall. He signed autographs and checked out a simulator at the new Dick’s store on Saturday.
