FORT MILL, S.C. — Voters in Fort Mill approved a massive property tax increase Tuesday night to help pay for new schools.
Residents voted on a $226 million bond referendum to build and renovate schools.
It breaks down to an average of $277 more a year for each homeowner in property tax.
The school board said it expects a boom in student enrollment and needs to buy land to build more schools.
