Ft. Mill teen tracks down predator who sent explicit video to little sister

FORT MILL, S.C. — A Fort Mill teenager is the kind of big brother many would like to have.

Luke, who did not want to give his last name, took action when his little sister received an explicit video on Snapchat from a stranger.

“He wasn’t pulling any punches, so I wasn’t going to be nice to him,” Luke said.

Luke created a fake account, pretended to be a young girl and got the suspect to give him his name.

“I added him, and the first video he sent me was the same video he sent to my sister,” Luke said. “So he was not there for conversations.”

The predator also told Luke where he lived.

Deputies near Bryson City, which is 200 miles away, arrested 38-year-old Charles Osborne, who they said admitted to being the man in the explicit video.

Osborne was charged with a felony and is in jail in York County.

Luke didn’t hesitate to step in and help find the suspect but said he’s sad about what Osborne’s family is facing.

“I feel bad for the people around him, who didn’t know this about him because I’m sure he has friends, family,” Luke said.

Fort Mill police don’t encourage people to take the risk that Luke took by reaching out to the suspect. However, they credit Luke with protecting his sister and giving them everything they needed to make an arrest.
