CHARLOTTE — A major south Charlotte road has reopened after a gas leak forced a closure Wednesday.
The issue was reported on South Tryon Street near Fairwood Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
South Tryon Street cleared around 4 a.m. Thursday.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom captured the large hole being worked on by crews.
Piedmont Natural Gas said a third-party contractor hit the line while digging underground.
Officials announced that the roadway was expected to fully reopen Wednesday night.
