GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Officials with the Gaston County Sheriff’s Department have announced funeral arrangements for a deputy who died last month when her father crashed into a Bessemer City restaurant.
Corporal Katelyn Self will be laid to rest on Sunday, June 10 at Gastonia First Assembly of God on South Myrtle School Road.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. and the service will begin at 4 p.m.
Burial will follow at Hovis Family Cemetery on Plonk Road in Dallas.

Katelyn Self was killed, along with her sister-in-law Amanda Self, when her father, Roger Self, intentionally plowed his Jeep into the Surf and Turf Lodge in Bessemer City on May 20., according to police.
Investigators said the family had just come from church and was enjoying lunch when Roger Self crashed through the restaurant.
Four other people were injured in the crash, including Roger Self’s son, Josh Self, a local police officer.
Amanda Self was laid to rest over the weekend.

Roger Self will be in court on Thursday facing two charges of first-degree murder. The family's pastor, Austin Rammel, said Roger Self has been battling mental illness.
