HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — The Huntersville fire department responded to a structure fire at a private wood working shop that happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. Friday morning, according to firefighters.
The fire happened on Gilead Road just off of Beatties Ford Road.
Firefighters said the fire was already through the roof when they left the station.
Gilead Road was closed for hours between Beatties Ford Road and Bud Henderson Road as crews worked to put out the fire.

The building is a total loss, but no one has been injured or displaced.
The Charlotte Department of Transportation worked with police to divert all traffic off of the freeway.
No further information on the nature of the emergency was released by first responders.
