Group organizes ‘Trump Train’ through Meck County in support of president

MECKLENBURG COUNTS, N.C. — On Sunday, supporters of President Donald Trump in Mecklenburg County hit the road for what organizers called a “Trump Train.”

It started in Matthews and supporters drove through the entire Interstate 485 loop.

Organizers said they believe the election has not been fair and that the vote counts were not done correctly.

“Because it is the American people that are supposed to able to speak for who is going to be their president, and we want to make sure every ballot is validated correctly,” organizer Melissa Rapier said.

The group said they fully support Trump as he takes legal action against the election.

President Trump has not conceded or spoken publicly about the results since Joe Biden was projected as the winner of the 2020 presidential election.

He did tweet on Sunday, criticizing the media for calling the presidential race.

On Monday, Trump’s legal team is expected to file several lawsuits that claim the results are fraudulent. South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said he supports the president’s fight.

“If Republicans don’t challenge and change the U.S. election system, they’ll never be another Republican president elected again,” Graham said. “President Trump should not concede.”

Three sources told CNN President Trump and his supporters plan to continue to spread doubt about Biden’s projected win.

They said the Trump campaign will present “obituaries” of people it will say voted and campaign officials might also hold rallies.

They want to pressure investigators to look more closely at the votes and possibly order recounts. At this point, however, there is no evidence to support the claims of widespread voter fraud.
