Here’s a list of NC/SC events canceled or postponed due to coronavirus concerns

As the concern over the spread of coronavirus grows and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announcing a statewide stay at home order until April 29, most events in our area have been canceled or put on hold.

CHARLOTTE AREA

  • Charlotte Hornets - NBA has suspended all games until further notice (link)
  • Charlotte Checkers - AHL has suspended all games until further notice (link)
  • Charlotte Independence professional soccer team - Season suspended for minimum of 30 days (link)
  • Blumenthal Performing Arts Theaters - All events suspended through April 12 (link)
  • Both Mint Museum locations - Closed through March 31; programs and events canceled (link)
  • Bechtler Museum of Modern Art - Closed through March 31; programs and events canceled (link)
  • Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden - Closed until further notice; all public events canceled through May 11 (link)
  • All Discovery Place museums - Closed until further notice (link)
  • Carowinds Theme Park - Opening date postponed from March 21 to sometime in mid-May (link)
  • UNC Charlotte Earth Day Festival scheduled for April 1 - Canceled
  • Pennzoil AutoFair scheduled for April 2-5 at Charlotte Motor Speedway - Rescheduled to June 12-14 (link)
