Mugginess to stick around, but storm chances weaken

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Storm chances have weakened as showers moved well to the east and the clouds have broken up Wednesday afternoon.

Another chance will come Thursday and could bring some evening storms.

Behind that system is a wind shift that could mean a bit cooler and drier weather Friday.

Showers should clear out for the Panthers game Thursday night and also for the Charlotte 49ers game on Saturday.

The Labor Day weekend is expected to be classic Carolina late-summer weather.

Expect hazy sunshine early on, and then the clouds will build with a 30 percent change of late-day/early-evening thunderstorms and highs each day in the upper 80s to about 90 degrees.
