How many TSA agents at CLT have tested positive for Covid-19?

CHARLOTTE — With the Thanksgiving travel rush over, many are bracing for a holiday spike in the already-rising Covid-19 cases.

And that could include employees of the Transportation Safety Administration, who have been working on the front lines of the travel industry at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and beyond since the pandemic started.

A look at federal data released by the agency shows that, despite enhanced TSA safety protocols, positive cases are still being reported among its screening agents at airports nationwide. But the data shows TSA infections at North Carolina airports number far less than their peers in other states.

Charlotte Douglas has reported 56 cases among its agents, with 46 of those being screening officers.
