CHARLOTTE — Two people were seriously hurt late Wednesday afternoon in a wreck on I-77 South, officials said. Paramedics also treated five others had minor injuries.

The southbound lanes were closed at the South Tryon Street Exit during rush hour traffic as crews responded to the scene.
All lanes of traffic were reopened by 8:15 p.m. but there was still congestion that stretched about 3 miles.
