CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman has been forced out of her home after the ceiling of her apartment came crashing down Friday afternoon.
The damage was extensive when Channel 9 crews went inside the apartment on Wynbrook Way near Interstate 85 in north Charlotte.

“I went to lay down, and I just heard this big loud noise,” resident Monica Dayson said.
Fire inspectors posted a notice that the apartment wasn’t safe until someone could get in and clean it all up.

They also told representatives of the apartment complex’s management company that they should inspect ceilings in other apartments.
A company spokeswoman told Channel 9 they’ve called contractors in to fix the ceiling and check others.
