HARRISBURG, N.C. — Dust created by a steel processing plant in Harrisburg has been annoying surrounding residents and damaging property.
The Department of Environmental Quality inspectors have been to Galvan Industries three times since a Channel 9 investigation aired in June.
Galvan Industries is using its systems to control the dust, but some area business owners still question the plant’s methods, according to inspectors.

State inspectors said they're still looking over Galvan Industries’ permit to make sure it's being followed and could take further action.
Galvan Industries' president said he contacted most of the business owners to address questions and concerns.
He also met with the Harrisburg town manager to discuss the dust issues and how the company is willing to resolve any complaints.
Some business owners said they were offered car washes, but an owner said Galvan wouldn't pay the $9,000 it would cost to rewrap its vehicles.
State inspectors said they're taking their findings and showing them to their deputy director.
After that report, inspectors will know what to do next in the investigation.
