HICKORY, N.C. — A Catawba County jury has found a man not guilty of murder for a 2015 shooting death.
Hickory police said they found Octavis Sentex Geter, 23, shot and left to die on the side of the road on June 6, 2015. He was found in the 800 block of 2nd Street Southeast in Hickory.
Police said a large crowd of people was gathered around him when they found his body at 2 a.m.
Geter was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police charged Jamar Franklin Robinson on June 9 of that year and he turned himself in at the Hickory Police Department. Robinson was charged with one count of first-degree murder and was held without bond.
On Thursday, a jury found Robinson not guilty of first-degree murder for Geter’s death.
