Large tree falls on U.S. 321 in Gastonia

GASTONIA, N.C. — A large tree fell on Chester Street on Friday morning in Gastonia.
 
The tree split, and part of it fell on a house while the other landed close the street.
 
Chester Street, which is southbound U.S. 321, near Sixth Avenue, has been closed.
 
Crews are on scene cutting the downed tree.
