HARRISBURG, N.C. — Powerful storms rolled through the Carolinas Saturday night, knocking out power for thousands and leaving two Harrisburg homes damaged by lightning.
Lightning struck one home around 1:30 a.m. on Moss Creek Drive off Rocky River Road.
Crews said the lightning bolt left a mark on the window.
No one was injured.
Just 15 minutes later, Harrisburg fire crews responded to another home hit by lightning.
This happened on Phar Mill Road near Highway 49.
Fire crews said the power company secured the power and then realized there was a small fire in the crawlspace of the home.
The fire accelerated once crews got inside.
The fire investigator said three adults were displaced, but no one was injured.
