Local brewery expands with uptown location, other ventures

CHARLOTTE — Long before the Covid-19 pandemic made open-air hangouts the hottest spots in town, this local brewery had mapped out plans for a partly outdoor venue in uptown Charlotte. But that’s only part of a big expansion for D9 Brewing Co., some of which has come to fruition in recent days.

In fact, D9 has opened three locations in the past week, according to its Facebook page — an uptown taproom at the Savoy apartment complex on Stonewall Street, a D9 brewery in the heart of Hendersonville in western North Carolina and a Community Brewing Ventures outpost in downtown Newton. CBV is a spinoff of D9 that aims to help drive expansion for industry players.
