Local nonprofit surprises children in Charlotte with Christmas morning gifts

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — About 50 children in Charlotte got a surprise from Team Trublue on Christmas morning.

The nonprofit group delivered gifts to children who were hoping for a visit from Santa.

"We get kids from different schools that get sent in to us. We search for sponsors and we were able to play Santa Claus,” said Will Adams.

The group packed around 10 cars with bikes and other presents. The gift were donated by the community.

"You walk into people’s houses on Christmas and you expect toys everywhere; we don’t see that until we walk in the door, and it’s like Santa Claus just came,” Adams said.

One of the reasons Team TruBlue does this is to honor Adams’ son.

"My son got killed, and he would give the shirt off his back. He would do it for everybody, so that’s why we do what we do,” said Adams.
