CORNELIUS, N.C. — Restaurant and hospitality veteran Chris Boukedes’ timing couldn’t have been worse.

He locked in a deal for large-scale entertainment venue Boatyard Eats in Cornelius just weeks before the pandemic shut down restaurants and entertainment offerings across the country.

But it’s not just about that deal. His hospitality group, Bouk Management, is behind neighborhood bistro On The Nines in Mooresville, Galway Hooker in Huntersville, Bouk Catering and the Comedy Zone LKN.

“My business model is entertainment. I love bringing people together and giving them a good time,” Boukedes said. “I want to keep doing this and keep growing. I’ve got no choice but to fight through.”

This year has forced Boukedes to take a step back and focus on how his businesses will survive without any of his normal revenue streams.
