CHARLOTTE — Plans for several Charlotte-area residential developments are in the works despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

That includes a pair of rezoning petitions for townhouse developments — one that would bring as many as 63 units to the Commonwealth Park neighborhood and the other that would add up to 72 townhouses on Reames Road in north Charlotte. Plans are also advancing on a once-contested apartment complex in the town of Stallings, and work is underway on a community of 21 luxury, custom homes in Charlotte’s Cotswold neighborhood.

Mecklenburg County and North Carolina had been operating under a stay-at-home order since late March through May 22, when the state entered a modified phase 2 of its three-part reopening plan. Construction, however, was considered an essential business throughout the duration of the stay-at-home order, allowing work to continue on local projects.

Check out the slideshow here for a closer look at the developments mentioned above and other residential projects that were reported by Charlotte Business Journal staffers in April and May.
