CHARLOTTE — Frontier Airlines is adding a seasonal nonstop flight at Charlotte Douglas International Airport this summer to southern Texas.

The Denver-based, low-cost carrier will begin service from the Charlotte airport to San Antonio, Texas, on Aug 12. The CLT flight is part of a nine-route expansion at San Antonio International Airport.

Frontier’s flights between Charlotte and San Antonio will operate on an Airbus A319 three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Elsewhere in North Carolina, Frontier also recently added a flight to San Antonio from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, where it has been beefing up its presence.
