CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Human Rights Campaign Foundation recently released its annual study that measures major corporations’ policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality, and several local companies scored perfect marks for 2021.

That list includes some of the area’s largest public companies such as Bank of America Corp., Duke Energy Corp., Lowe’s Cos. Inc. and Truist Financial Corp., as several private firms. In addition, two companies not based in Charlotte but that have a major presence here — Wells Fargo & Co., the area’s largest financial-sector employer, and American Airlines Group Inc., which operates its second-largest hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport — received scores of 100.
