Mooresville man arrested on sex charges in 'vulgar assault' at TJ Maxx

GASTONIA, N.C. — A Mooresville man who was banned from a Target in Huntersville on suspicion of secret peeping has been arrested again, this time accused of performing a lewd act and grabbing a woman at a TJ Maxx in Gastonia.

Police announced Thursday that they had arrested Robert Lee Miller. Officers took out warrants for his arrest earlier this week on sexual battery and felony obscene exhibition charges.

The victim, who did not want to be identified, told Channel 9 she was shopping at the TJ Maxx on Cox Road when she noticed Miller following her from aisle to aisle, moments before the vulgar sexual assault.

"He is a sick man," the victim said.

She said she shouted and even chased Miller. Police said he was captured on surveillance video wearing a disguise, but officers were able to identify him.

"I'm the victim and he gets to live his life like nothing else has changed and I'm sitting here. Have to live with it day in and day out worrying, 'Is he going to find me again? Is he going to do something else to somebody else?'" the victim said.

Detectives said they had been in touch with Miller, but he stopped communicating before they arrested him.

Channel 9 has covered Miller in the past.
