Man caught on camera in home may be connected to more break-ins

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Police are looking for a man who they believe could be connected to a series of north Mecklenburg County home break-ins over the last month.

Investigators released surveillance video Thursday showing a man in his 20s or 30s walking through someone's home in the middle of the night.

Police said the man has broken into three homes in the Slater Springs neighborhood while residents were sleeping and stole items.

So far, the break-ins haven't turned violent, but police said that during a break-in Monday, the man exposed himself.

"He actually was confronted by one of the residents and exposed himself to the resident," CMPD Capt. Ryan Kendall said. "No assaults occurred. No physical contact was made, but that does sort of up the stakes a little bit when something like this does happen."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.
