CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a suspect after a 64-year-old Charlotte man was stabbed to death Saturday night in what police say was a “domestic incident.”

Officers charged 37-year-old Daniel Pereyra-Nandayapa for the murder of Hector Cruz.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Mont Carmel Lane, near Branchview Drive.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said when they got to the scene, they found 64-year-old Cruz suffering from an apparent stab wound.

He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities believe this was a domestic incident and that Pereyra-Nandayapa knew Cruz, but did not say how.
