Man found in wrecked car died from gunshot wound in Rowan County, deputies say

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are investigating a homicide in Rowan County after a man who was found in a wrecked car died from being fatally shot.

Troopers responded to a crash Wednesday on Saw Road near China Grove.

They found 28-year-old Edward Geouge III partially outside an overturned car. Officials confirmed he was dead at the scene.

The next day, as the medical examiner was examining the body, they learned that Geouge died from a fatal gunshot wound.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office began to investigate Geouge’s death as a homicide.

Deputies said they have possible suspects, but they have not released any other details.
