WINGATE, N.C. — A man fell 12 feet from an unfinished roof on Wingate University, according to Wingate officials.
The incident happened around 3:31 p.m. Thursday on East Wilson Street. It was at the university's new soccer field house construction site.
The 64-year-old man fell 12 feet and sustained head injuries and a deep laceration to his hand. He was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center – Main with injuries that were not life-threatening.
