CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was killed in a moped crash in the Elizabeth neighborhood on his 24th birthday.
Police said Matthew Foster was heading into uptown Charlotte on East Seventh Street near Dotger Avenue when he hit a wet part of the road and crashed into a telephone pole at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday.
Police said it doesn't appear Foster was speeding but they're still checking to see if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
