CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man shot during an argument at an east Charlotte gas station on the Fourth of July has died.
Police said Che Matoorah, 29, died on Wednesday as a result of the injuries he sustained just after 1 a.m. on July 4. Officer said Matoorah was arguing with Jeremy Bishop, 23, when Bishop pulled out a gun and shot him at the Citgo on The Plaza near Mecklenburg Avenue.
Police said the two men did not know each other.
Bishop was arrested on July 5 and charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Detectives said they now have a warrant to arrest Bishop on a murder charge.
Bishop is in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
